The Sin of Bath-Sheba: An Open Letter from a Brother to Christian Sisters
In 1993, the first printing of the book Thy Nakedness: Lord What Shall I Wear, was the beginning of Homeward Publishing Ministries, yes, a publishing company with one book , but that was the start. In those years we were asked to present seminars on modesty and Christian dress, which now is a rarity and sign of the times. At one of these seminars this article, which has now become a booklet — The Sin of Bath-Sheba was put into my hand over 20 years ago as a gift. After reading it I was determined to include it in the first printing of Thy Nakedness. Part of this article was included.
Through a miracle of Divine grace and providence I recently met the “brother” who not only enlarged the tract, but put it into a booklet! (the full text) It is now made available singly or by the dozen with discount pricing. By the way, for obvious reasons—after you read the tract you will understand why he wants to remain anonymous!
“The brother” said to me, “I had these booklets for years in my possession and prayed the Lord would send someone who could distribute them. And just when I was almost about to give up—the Lord sends you.” Praise the Lord for this wonderful honor and privilege! Let us help in this missionary endeavor, to raise the standard of the Lord out of the dust and mire. Time is running out. We’re almost Home!
“Why do I appreciate this booklet so much? It is because it is the most candid exposé on dress I have ever heard by a man, with the exception of Joe Crews and Rick Shorter, my deceased husband, in all my years as a Christian. (over 40 years) The “brother” “does it” ever so gently, godly and graciously, but he “does it!” He digs deep and causes men and women to examine themselves—their motives, their dress, their influence and responsibility to each other. He lays bare the heart of a man and his internal struggles. It covers history, the Bible, good common sense and godly, manly advice for men and women. It is excellent, eye-opening and riveting!” Sister Gwen Shorter
